From an enchanted winter forest to the glowing Northern Lights, take a magical journey through a world of dance in A Winter's Dream, a new ballet by Christina Castro-Tauser. International Ballet Exchange invites audiences of all ages to the world premiere.
There are two ways see the show:
1. See the show at the beautiful new Teatro Esperanza (4261 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia 19140), on Saturday, December 11. Two shows: 1pm and 7pm. All tickets $25. Free parking. Whether you join us in-person or watch from home, your ticket purchase supports not only IBE's performance but also a recording that will be shared with the Philadelphia public schools.
The ballet features Yosbel Delgado, Giselle Tirado, Peyton Bellman, and Emmauel Colon; more than 25 youth; and local artists who perform traditional dance forms: Modero, Ashley Rivera, Kate O'Brien, and Uniting Colleges Through Tap.
From the choreographer: "In creating A Winter's Dream, I wanted to make a ballet that would both enchant audiences and exemplify the founding vision of IBE. And so, while A Winter's Dream is a brand new ballet, its core elements—making international connections, blending professionals and students on stage, featuring diverse casts, and using story to engage people in the art of ballet—have been the hallmarks of IBE since its beginnings."
